Our Promise to Our Partners
ICON Charities Inc. (ICONC) functions as a platform where the values and aspirations of caring and compassionate donors translate into tangible benefits for the poor and needy in our society. Our aim is to provide an open and honest environment where the willing donor gets connected with the deserving beneficiary. As volunteers, our purpose is only to inform, guide and assist the donor in fulfilling his or her philanthropic wishes, but never to improperly influence such decision.
Philanthropy is a voluntary action for the common good and betterment of our community, based on a tradition of giving and sharing. Our ultimate aim is to seek and secure investment in a better society, a higher quality of life for the have-nots, and showcase humanity at its very best, expressing love, hope and care for others who have greater needs. To ensure that ICONC’s philanthropic programs merit the respect and trust of the general public, and that the current and prospective donors have full confidence in our programs that they support, ICONC declare that all donor-partners have these rights:
Donor Bill of Rights
To be informed of our mission, of the way we intend to use the donated funds, and of its capacity to use donations effectively for their intended purpose.
To be informed of the identity of those serving on our governing board, and expect the board to exercise prudent judgment in its stewardship responsibilities.
To have access to our most recent financial statements.
To be assured their money will be used for the purpose for which they were given.
To receive appropriate acknowledgment and recognition.
To promptly receive receipts in accordance with IRS regulations.
To be assured that information about their donation is handled with respect and confidentiality to the extent provided by the law.
To feel free to ask questions when making donation and to receive prompt, honest and forthright answers.
To have the right to remove their contact information from all and any mailing lists.
To expect that all relationships with individuals representing ICONC’s interest to the donor will be professional in nature.
